Welcome to Litenin Bug
Liteninbug is dedicated to providing the highest quality support for film makers by providing gear and consultation services. Our company is introducing the LB 220 Big Bug Fluorescent lighting fixture ideally suited for location and studio photography. The LB 220 Big Bug is extremely rugged and versatile. Six years of development and testing have produced the toughest fluorescent lighting fixture on earth.
Doug Stanley, Director of Photography for Discovery Channel’s acclaimed series “Deadliest Catch” reports that the LCA gear’s L220 is the best fluorescent location lighting instrument available anywhere.
“I have been using this Big Bug lite for the past four years in some of the most difficult lighting situations ever encountered. “Deadliest Catch” is filmed in the harsh waters of the Bearing Sea where the men and equipment all take a severe beating. Rick’s lights not only hold up, but they give me more flexibility and allow me and my crew to work faster and make better pictures than we could without the lights. In fact, there isn’t another fluorescent lighting fixture available anywhere that could hold up to the punishment and still give me the chance to quickly make good images.
Inside Humvee’s while bouncing down the streets of Baghdad embedded with the troupes for “American Soldier” for CMTV, on crab boats tossed around by forty foot waves in the Bearing Sea while filming “Deadliest Catch” for the Discovery Channel, and for interviews with music stars for MTV where subtle and beautiful lighting is required. They are truly at home anywhere, in any location, on any set. I don’t know how I could work without them.”

The LB 220 has proven it can stand up to harsh conditions that would make its more fragile brethren wince; from winter on the Bering Sea to summer in the Sunni triangle. Other filmmakers have used them in less severe, but no less glamorous locations such as backstage at the 2004 Academy Awards. Documentary filmmakers, freelance producers and news production crews are currently using the LB 220 in a wide variety of applications.
New Products on the Horizon!
We are currently finalizing design on two new products. The Bitti Bug and the Little Bug. These two units are smaller and more compact than the Big Bug. The Little Bug has the same output, 220 Watts, in a package that's half the size. The Bitti Bug is only 9 inches long and is perfect for an eye light, for shooting inside vehicles, and for use wherever you have need for a little bit of light. The same rugged construction techniques are used. The bulbs are encased in a tough polycarbonate bulb cover, a carbon fiber support rod provides convenient attachment to any Grip head, and flexible fabric reflectors are fully adjustable. We're also working on an entirely new technology dimmable ballast with will power any of our lighting instruments.
